Golden Age of Aviation Airshow

The Golden Age of Aviation Air Show at Compton Abbas

Postponed until 2026

Spitfire Pair

Spitfires Elizabeth and St George

An Aero Legends base owned by film maker Guy Richie.

The first show was in 2024 and it was due to be repeated on 9th & 10th August 2025. However, the organisers announced in March that the 2025 show would not happen. It has been 'postponed' until 2026.

Message from the show - reproduced from their social media

We wanted to share an important update regarding the 2025 Golden Age of Aviation Air Show at Compton Abbas Airfield. After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the event until 2026.

While the 2024 Golden Age of Aviation Air Show was a resounding success and well-received by attendees, we believe taking additional time will allow us to address a few issues from the first event and ensure we return with the best show possible in 2026. As well as the uncertain economic environment we find ourselves in, a key reason for this postponement is that we were unable to secure key RAF assets during the bidding process. We are already working hard to secure these popular assets for 2026 to deliver an enhanced and unforgettable air show experience.

We greatly appreciate your support and have put together several options for those who purchased tickets to the 2025 event:

1. Double Your Ticket Value – Redeem your 2025 ticket(s) for double the value against any Aero Legends flying experience from Compton Abbas. This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable flight in a vintage aircraft, such as the Spitfire
2. Transfer to the 2026 Show – Commute your ticket(s) to the 2026 Golden Age of Aviation Air Show and lock in your spot while avoiding any future pricing increases.
3. Request a Refund – If you prefer, you can opt for a full refund of your ticket purchase.

We understand this change may be disappointing, but we are committed to delivering an even better and more memorable air show experience in 2026.

Our team will be reaching out to all ticket holders shortly with instructions on how to select your preferred option.

If you have any immediate questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at info@aerolegends.co.uk

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We can’t wait to welcome you back in 2026 for an unforgettable aviation experience.

Accommodation near the show

It is best to book as far as possible in advance. This is not only because nearby hotels and guest houses tend get booked up well before the date of an airshow but also because prices can be better when you book early online.

There are plenty of booking agencies. We find that many of the well known ones are better at finding hotels from international or larger UK chains and may suggest hotels in main towns or cities quite a distance from the show site.

Some Options

There is a Premier Inn hotel in ** about ** miles away.

There is a Travelodge ** in ** and there are another two within about ** miles of the show.
