Dunkeswell, the highest licenced aerodrome in the UK, started life as a WW2 Naval Base. Now a vibrant and busy hub for the general aviation community, the aerodrome celebrates its 80th anniversary this year. Not an airshow as such, but lots on the ground and some comings and goings; trade stands and vehicles.

The Heritage Show became the Vintage Airshow in 2019. The theme remained vintage aircraft, vintage motors, vintage agriculture and vintage bikes, from the Collection and from visitors. The show was to have been extended in 2021 to become a weekend of steam and vintage air displays but with flying on only one day, although the weather put paid to that. The Vintage air and steam show was back for 2022. For 2023 the show retains its focus on Shuttleworth’s Steam, Agricultural and flying Heritage but with a Bedfordshire county bias.

Duxford's September Air Show will again commemorate the Battle of Britain. This is one of the biggest and most popular shows in the airshow calendar and often sells out. As well as flying, there will be living history re-enactments and sounds of the era. The ticket price includes access to the museums and exhibitions.

The biggest aircraft trade show in the UK is held once every two years. The first few days are trade days but Friday usually has special features for younger people and is open to the public. There used to be a family airshow on the Saturday and Sunday, but this element of the show was cancelled in 2020.

Falmouth week is Friday 9th - Sunday 18th August 2024. Falmouth Sailing Week is 11th - 17th August 2024. Most of the events are sailing and onshore events but there would normally be some flying on the Wednesday (14th).
