The biggest event at the airfield. 1940's themed celebration of the 460 Squadron Lancaster Mk 1 (AR-G) that began its wartime service from RAF Breighton in 1942, survived 90 missions and is now preserved in Canberra, Australia. Plans include visiting aircraft, flypasts by the BBMF and RAF Typhoon, the Army Historic Flight, military vehicles, Driffield Silver Band, car and motorcycle clubs, evening hangar party (period fancy dress encouraged) and live music. This is a member event but memberships can be purchased on the day.

The biggest aircraft trade show in the UK is held once every two years. The first few days are trade days but Friday has special features for younger people and is open to the public. There used to be a family airshow on the Saturday and Sunday, but this element of the show was cancelled in 2020.

Previously a one-day show, it has been held over 2 days since 2013. For 2021 it had been stretched to three days but reverted to two and remains a two-day show for 2022.

An exciting mix of warbirds and civilian aircraft; classic and military vehicles; military vehicle rides; re-enactors; bands; food village; funfair.

This year the Airshow showcases the greatest aircraft of the last eight decades and the electric aircraft which will lead us into the next 80 years.

Primarily a Living History show, with re-enactors and classic and military vehicles. There has been flying in the past.

The Victory Show

The Victory Show is a tribute to WW2. Over the weekend expect static and flying WWll and modern aircraft, 1940's vehicles, 1940's working and static farm machinery, huge army encampment, 50 re-enactment groups, 200+ vehicles including heavy armour & tanks, tank and steam train rides, trader’s area. The show is also open on Friday 2nd as a Schools Educational Day, but probably without flying.

The Heritage Show became the Vintage Airshow in 2019. The theme remained vintage aircraft, vintage motors, vintage agriculture and vintage bikes, from the Collection and from visitors. The show was to have been extended in 2021 to become a weekend of steam and vintage air displays but with flying on only one day, although the weather put paid to that. The Vintage air and steam show is back for 2022.

Being held a week earlier in 2022 than usual, possibly to avoid a clash with Goodwood Revival, Duxford's September Air Show will again commemorate the Battle of Britain. This is one of the biggest and most popular shows in the airshow calendar and often sells out. As well as flying, there will be living history re-enactments and sounds of the era. The ticket price includes access to the museums and exhibitions and the Flightline Experience.

Step back in time to the halcyon days of motor racing at Goodwood. Revival is not just a celebration but a recreation of the 'Goodwood Years'.
