Spitfire Day

Ten-minute display by Spitfire 'The Spirit of Kent' to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the first flight of the Spitfire. The display will be at about 2.30 p.m. between the Ramsgate Tunnels and the Harbour Wall.

There will also be trade stands, refreshments, 1940s Music, children's entertainer and free make and paint Airfix kits. Tickets £5 each from the Defence of the Nation Education Centre in Ramsgate Tunnels.

A relaxed and friendly show. One of the first shows of the year so expect the first public display of new teams, new personnel, new paint schemes etc. But for the same reason you have to be prepared to be flexible in case not all the certification, such as Public Display Authorities, are in place.

Music, local crafts, tanks, vintage and classic vehicles; steam; the Portsmouth model boat display team; military and civilian static aircraft, as well as fly-in and displays of modern and vintage planes.

A chance to see the Shuttleworth collection of vehicles as well as aircraft in the company of the Shuttleworth re-enactors. The young at heart, of all ages, will be able to 'make and paint', free, with Airfix & IPMS Brampton. Add to this a visit to the museum and hangars and access the other delights of the estate, including free tours of the Swiss Gardens at noon and 3 p.m.

The show was to have returned in 2015 for the first time since 1989 but was postponed until 2016 following the tragic accident at Shoreham airshow the previous week and the new restrictions on flying vintage jet aircraft introduced by the CAA in its wake.

As well as flying displays there will be a full static aircraft park with these aircraft. Also live music, military displays, a fairground, classic cars and a food village.

The theme of this year's spring airshow reflects the opening of the transformed American Air Museum and tells of the special relationship between America and Britain through historic and contemporary jet aircraft. As well as flying, there will be living history re-enactments, sounds of the eras and the voices of Americans who lived and worked at RAF Duxford from the First World War to the Cold War.

Evening Vintage Flying Display

Starting at 17.00, vintage and modern aircraft flying in to visit this WW1 aerodrome for its first evening flying event of the year. Period music from the time of the Great War, a flying display by the WW1 reproduction aircraft of the WW1 Aviation Heritage Trust, The Tiger Club Turbulent Display Team and other vintage aircraft. Members of the living history group, The Great War Society, will be giving demonstrations of WW1 RFC flying equipment.

A chance to see up close the Shuttleworth collection of vehicles as well as aircraft in the company of visiting military vehicles and the Shuttleworth re-enactors, staff and volunteers in a day with a 1940s feel.

There will be flying throughout the day, weather permitting, in a relaxed programme that has no dedicated ‘display time’, so aircraft may fly at any time after the gates open at 10 a.m. until around dusk. If the weather is kind this will include the Edwardians.

The young at heart, of all ages, will be able to 'make and paint', free, with Airfix & IPMS Brampton. Add to this a visit to the museum and hangars and access the other delights of the estate, including free tours of the Swiss Gardens at noon and 3 p.m.

Gates at 10.00. Adults £16 on the gate: £14.50 in advance. Up to 4 accompanied under 16s free per adult.

In the evening, as a separate pre-book only event, there will be a 1940s hangar dance.

Cleethorpes will host the National Armed Forces Day event this year. As well as a formal parade through Cleethorpes, substantial airshow, military show in Meridian Park, Military Wives Choir, other musicians and entertainers there will be military vehicles, including the Sandown class Mine Countermeasures Vessel HMS Blyth and the AS90 artillery tank and Warrior & Terrier armoured vehicles on the Boating Lake.

The flying display will feature four visiting Spitfires, Sally B, and the Lancaster and a variety of Hawkers. On the ground there will be live music with the Polka Dot Dolls, vehicle parade and re-enactors.

Flying Legends Air Show

One of the most popular warbird air shows and possibly THE heritage air show of the aviation calendar, drawing visitors from around the world. Historic piston engined aircraft in rare combinations in the air and an authentic 1940s atmosphere on the ground.
The finale is a 'balbo', a massed-formation featuring many of the aircraft that took part in the flying displays.

Ireland's biggest free air show: part of the month-long Bray Summerfest, now stretched from the traditional one-day event to two days from 2016. About 3 hours of flying each day supported by the Irish Defence Forces, Irish Air Corps, local and UK civilian teams with plenty of interest on the ground as well and helicopter flights.

Impressive attendance from abroad - this year the Viggen and Draken from the Swedish Air Force Historic Flight and Italy's Frecce Tricolori.

Danny House is a Grade 1 listed mansion dating from Tudor times, now providing serviced accommodation for retired people and bed and breakfast lettings.

Festival 21 celebrates the 21st anniversary of the Friends of Sussex Hospices charity.

Danny House was where the terms of the Treaty of Versailles were drawn up by Lloyd George, Winston Churchill and others in 1918. To mark this, the event will feature the Great War Display Team and Great War vehicles. The event starts at 2pm and concludes with a Son et Lumière played out on the facade of Danny House and a fireworks finale.

Airwaves: Northern Ireland International Airshow

Biggest airshow in Ireland. Free air and sea displays, ground shows and exhibitions in two areas:East Strand and Lansdowne. The display line moved to the east side of the peninsular in 2014, bringing it closer to the crowd line and with the Giant's Causeway and Dunluce Castle photogenically in the background.

North Coates Flying Club Autumn Flying Meeting Organised by the flying club based on the former RAF North Coates Airfield. This is not a full airshow but a member fly-in. The biggest Shuttleworth Collection show of the year moves from August to September. Vintage aircraft, vintage motors and vintage bikes, from the collection and from visitors. Probably the venue's largest number of visiting aircraft all year will join resident aircraft in the flying programme.

Goodwood Revival

Step back in time to the halcyon days of motor racing at Goodwood. Revival is not just a celebration but a recreation of the 'Goodwood Years'. Come in period dress and be part of the festival with period car and motorcycle racing, flying and static air displays of pre-1966 craft. Entry by advance ticket only - no tickets on the gate.

The 2016 Revival will celebrate the career of Sir Jack Brabham.

Cranfield University celebrates its 70th anniversary with an 'Open Doors' and Festival of Flight. In the morning there will be tours, interactive demonstrations, displays, exhibits and speakers detailing research and the Cranfield's worldwide impact. The static and flying air display with fairground attractions, face painting, crafts and food outlets is in the afternoon. Adults £12. 1 child (age 3-16) free per adult. Additional children £5.
