"The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that Scarborough will now host the prestigious Armed Forces Day National Event in 2022.

Scarborough was due to host this year’s national event from 25 to 27 June 2021, but unfortunately, like many other major events, it was postponed until 24 - 26 June 2022 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The council has welcomed the news and as soon as practicable, it will resume its planning for the event with the Ministry of Defence, other key partners and sponsors.

The national event attracts around 200,000 visitors of all ages during the course of the weekend. It boasts an action packed event programme, including spectacular air and ground displays and an extensive military parade. Previous national events have attracted people"

The finale is a 'balbo': a massed-formation featuring many of the aircraft that took part in the flying displays.

Airbourne will not take to the skies this summer. The decision to postpone the 2021 event has not been taken lightly, however we know that it is the responsible one to make taking into account the continuing forms of social distancing to ensure the safety of our residents and visitors. In the meantime work will commence on looking at how Airbourne can become a sustainable event for 2022 and we hope to return from 18 – 21 August 2022!

Free 4-day airshow along the very attractive seafront with ground displays, extensive military exhibition and plenty of flying all four days including strong military involvement. Also live music on the beach stage, children’s entertainment areas, helicopter pleasure flights and fireworks.

At a recent meeting the Cromer Carnival Committee discussed the possibility of planning for a carnival this year. Having looked at all the possibilities, it was regrettably decided that we could not go ahead with this years carnival, bearing in mind the restrictions that could still be in place in July and August.

The Victory Show

The 2020 show was to have been the last Victory Show but it was cancelled because of the Coronavirus. The show has announced that this postponed 2020 show will be held in 2021.

It is a tribute to WW2. The ground show is on for three days, but there are usually no airshow or battle re-enactments on Friday. Over weekend expect static and flying WWll and modern aircraft, 1940's vehicles, 1940's working and static farm machinery, huge army encampment, 50 re-enactment groups, 200+ vehicles including heavy armour & tanks, tank and steam train rides, trader’s area.

The Heritage Show became the Vintage Airshow in 2019. The theme remains vintage aircraft, vintage motors, vintage agriculture and vintage bikes, from the Collection and from visitors.
